Your photos never leave your device. Cropix processes all images locally in your browser. We never see, store, or transmit your images to any server. The only data we collect is what is necessary to run your account and process payments.

What We Do Not Collect

To be direct about what makes Cropix different:

  • We do not upload, store, or process your images on any server
  • We do not collect or store EXIF metadata from your photos
  • We do not track your location
  • We do not sell your data to third parties
  • We do not use your data for advertising
  • We do not use third-party analytics tools

What We Do Collect

Account Information

When you create a free or premium account, we collect your email address and name through Clerk, our authentication provider. This information is used solely to manage your account and communicate with you about your subscription. Clerk's privacy policy governs how this data is stored and protected.

Payment Information

If you subscribe to Cropix Premium, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details. Stripe handles all payment data directly and securely. Stripe's privacy policy governs how payment data is handled.

Usage Data

We track how many images you have processed in a given month to enforce the limits associated with your account tier. This count is stored in our database but is not linked to any specific image or image content.

Server Logs

Our hosting provider Vercel automatically collects standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security and performance monitoring. We do not actively analyze or store this data beyond what Vercel retains automatically.

How We Use Your Information

  • To send transactional emails related to your account or subscription

We do not send marketing emails unless you have explicitly opted in.

Image Processing and Privacy

All image processing in Cropix happens entirely within your browser using client-side JavaScript. When you upload an image to Cropix, it is loaded into your browser's memory and processed locally. The image data is never transmitted to our servers. This is not a policy choice that could change — it is how the tool is technically built.

As part of the image processing workflow, Cropix automatically removes all EXIF metadata from your exported images, including GPS coordinates, device information, and timestamps. This happens locally on your device before any file is downloaded.

Cookies

Cropix uses cookies only for authentication purposes through Clerk. These cookies allow you to stay signed in to your account. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information will be removed from our systems within 30 days. Usage count data is reset monthly and is not archived.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. To request any of the following, contact us at scottaiworkshop@gmail.com:

  • A copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion of your account and associated data
  • Information about how your data is used

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. Children's Privacy

Cropix is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Cropix after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
