Hi, I'm Scott.
I spent 30 years at NASA leading space missions and engineering teams. When you're responsible for hardware flying in orbit, communications security and reliability are not afterthoughts, they are built into the design from day one. For my digital tools, I call it Privacy by Design, and it's the foundation every tool I build starts from.
A few years ago I started creating content online. Like most creators, I quickly ran into the same frustration, spending more time reformatting the same photo for a dozen different platforms than actually creating. The tools that existed were either expensive, complicated, or required uploading your images to someone else's server. For creators who value their privacy, that last part is a real problem.
So I built Cropix.
It does one thing well: take one photo and give you every platform size you need in seconds, with all location and device metadata automatically stripped. Everything runs in your browser. Your images never leave your device. That's not a marketing claim, it's how it's built.
I'm still learning how to apply three decades of engineering thinking to building software tools, and I'm doing it in public. Cropix is the first of several privacy-first tools I'm planning to build for creators and everyday people who deserve better control over their digital lives.
Have a problem you'd like solved? A tool you wish existed? I'd genuinely like to hear it. Reach out at scottaiworkshop@gmail.com - I read every message.
